Michigan State basketball unranked in preseason AP Poll for first time since 2012

It’s officially disrespect season. Coming off a difficult and disappointing season, Tom Izzo’s Michigan State basketball squad will be unranked in the preseason AP Poll for the first time since 2012.

The Spartans will head into the season at No. 26 with 87 votes. Indiana is behind them with 41 votes.

The Big Ten is well represented in the top-25 even without MSU, however. Michigan is No. 6, Purdue is No. 7, Illinois is No. 12, Ohio State is at No. 17 and Maryland is No. 21. Of course, they will have to prove that they earn those spots on the court and the Spartans will be looking to make a jump.
