Michigan State football missing several key players on frigid senior day vs. Indiana

EAST LANSING – Michigan State football is missing a number of key players for its frigid senior day game Saturday against Indiana.

The Spartans’ offensive line will be thin again, with left tackle Jarrett Horst and right guards Matt Carrick and Brian Green not in uniform for the noon kickoff (Big Ten Network). Also absent are tight end Tyler Hunt, cornerback Ronald Williams and running back Davion Primm.

MSU for the third straight game continues to be without the eight players suspended for the Oct. 29 tunnel incident at Michigan: linebacker Jacoby Windmon, defensive back Angelo Grose, defensive end Zion Young, defensive end Brandon Wright, defensive back Justin White, defensive end Itayvion “Tank” Brown, defensive back Khary Crump and defensive back Malcom Jones.

Also still out with injuries are defensive ends Jeff Pietrowski and Khris Bogle, as well as long snapper Hank Pepper.

Offensive lineman Geno VanDeMark is back after missing last week’s win over Rutgers, while defensive back Chester Kimbrough is dressed after leaving that game with a head/neck injury.

Harold Joiner also moved from running back to warm up with the defensive backs before the game.

Temperatures are in the low 20s with a brisk wind from the west that makes Spartan Stadium feel around 10 degrees. The east upper deck stands are closed due to concern over pipes freezing and water unavailable for concession stands, according to an athletic department spokesman, so fans are being relocated elsewhere in the stadium. That decision was made Thursday due to the potential for problems.
