Michigan women's basketball moves up to No. 8 in latest USA TODAY Coaches Poll

A relatively light week on the upset front in women’s basketball produced minimal change in the USA TODAY Sports coaches poll.

The top six positions remain the same, headed by No. 1 South Carolina. The Gamecocks received 26 of 32 first-place votes this week. Louisville holds at No. 2 claiming the rest of the No. 1 votes. Stanford, North Carolina State, Indiana and Tennessee stay put in the next four slots.

No. 7 Iowa State and No. 8 Michigan each climbs two slots. Arizona slips a couple positions to No. 9, and surging LSU jumps four spots to round out the top 10.

No. 11 Maryland falls three places after stumbling against Michigan. Short-handed Connecticut, dealt its fourth loss of the campaign by Oregon, falls to No. 12, its lowest ranking since January of 2005.

South Florida drops out of the Top 25 following a loss to Central Florida.

Ohio State rejoins the poll at No. 25.
