Michigan's Adventure opens for the 2023 season on May 26, introduces 1st signature event

If you don't already have Memorial Day weekend plans, you might now.

The state's largest amusement and water park, Michigan's Adventure, opens for the 2023 season on Friday, May 26.

With more than 60 rides, slides and family attractions, there's something for everyone. Michigan's Adventure in Muskegon is home to iconic roller coasters such as Shivering Timbers and Thunderhawk, extreme water slides like the Funnel of Fear and Camp Snoopy — a Peanuts themes kids' area with five family rides.

The waterpark, WildWater Adventure, opens June 10. In addition to body slides and speed slides, the waterpark includes three wave pools.

Tickets and savings

Michigan's Adventure offers a variety of long-term and one-day ticket options.

For the most significant savings, guests are encouraged to get discounted daily tickets in advance, online, said Laure Bollenbach, a Michigan's Adventure spokesperson. A daily ticket is currently $39.99 online and $60 at the gate.

Those planning to visit the park more than once are encouraged to check out the season pass, which includes unlimited visits to the amusement park and waterpark, free parking, access to Camp Snoopy, Funland Farm and the new Tricks and Treats Fall Fest.

"A season pass is currently available on our website for only $99, plus applicable taxes and fees," Bollenbach said. "That means it pays for itself in less than two visits."

Visitors have a wide range of dining options to choose from at the park. Dining plans, fast lane tickets, cabanas and photo passes can be purchased in advance to enhance your experience at Michigan's Adventure.

When planning an over-night stay, consider saving by customizing a hotel and ticket package here.

The park's first signature event will include an immersive trick-or-treat experience with candy, pumpkin decorating, seasonal crafts and games.

On Saturdays and Sundays, from Sept. 16 until Oct. 15, guests "will be invited to step into a larger-than-life spooky Halloween adventure, surrounded by the sights, sounds and tastes of Michigan in the fall," according to a news release. "Families will also be able to enjoy select rides – including attractions at Camp “Spooky,” the park’s new kids’ area where kids, parents and grandparents can all ride together – all included with admission."

Visitors are encouraged to show up in their costumes, as Snoopy and his Peanuts pals will be showing off theirs.
