Microsoft co-founder's art set for ‘sale of the century’

STORY: This Paul Cezanne painting is expected to fetch

over $120 million at auction next month

It's from the valuable art collection of

late Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen

“This collection was put together by Paul Allen over a considerable period and he bought with an extremely careful eye. He was a man who really understood the artworks and their individual significance. It’s going to be sale which we assume will make well in excess of $1 billion. That having been said, it’s a sale which incorporates 150 works so there’s a great span of objects and different price points."

The collection will be sold in New York on November 9-10

Proceeds from the sale will go to philanthropic causes
