Mid State 3 Football roundup: QB-WR swap ignites KMS past ACGC

Oct. 15—GROVE CITY — A position swap seemed to work wonders for Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg.

Quarterback Isaac Rudnigen switched spots with wide receiver Jaiden Henjum in the second quarter and scored on a 65-yard touchdown pass in the second quarter. They had another TD connection in the third from 53 yards out.

The swing in momentum helped the Fighting Saints beat Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City 29-6 in the Falcons' homecoming on Friday night.

Henjum finished 8 of 16 passing for 216 yards, with Rudnigen hauling in five catches for 143 yards. Tight end Hunter Kallstrom added four catches for 49 yards.

KMS running back Chase Magaard also had a pair of scores from 2 and 1 yard out. Playing with one hand in a cast, Magaard finished with 35 yards on 13 carries. He also had two receptions for 28 yards.

ACGC was limited to 114 yards of offense.

Jevon Williams led the Falcons' running attack with 50 yards on 19 carries. The team's lone score came in the fourth quarter on a 14-yard pass from Brody Straumann to Casey Struthers.
