Midday Sherwood crash near roadwork hospitalizes 1

SAN ANGELO, Texas (Concho Valley Homepage) — A two-car crash on the 5500 block of Sherwood Way near ongoing roadwork sent one person to the hospital on March 22.

According to a San Angelo Police Department officer at the scene, traffic cones on the eastbound lanes of Sherwood Way diverted traffic into the far-right lane. When vehicles came to a stop at a nearby intersection, the driver of a silver Honda was “somewhat distracted looking at some signage on the road.” This caused the driver to fail to control the car’s speed, colliding with the rear of a white Lincoln in front of them as a result.

The driver of the Honda was taken to Shannon Medical Center with minor injuries. The driver of the Lincoln was allowed to leave the scene.

The Honda driver was issued a warning for failure to control speed. According to the officer, this is the fifth crash to occur today.
