With the high school football season finished, star players from around Macon and surrounding counties began choosing where they’ll play college football last Wednesday for Early Signing Day.

Nearly every big high school from Middle Georgia had a few players commit, with some choosing local schools. Here’s a look at the best recruits from the region and where they’ll play college ball:

Top 300 prospects

Middle Georgia had two players featured in the ESPN Top 300 recruits list, both hailing from Warner Robins.

Warner Robins High School’s star Isaiah Canion hit the list at No. 191, the highest-rated recruit from the region. Listed as an athlete, Canion played wide receiver for most of his time with the Demons but also had some games at quarterback.

He signed with Georgia Tech, one of just three prospects with a four-star rating for the Yellow Jackets.
