Spooky season is almost here.

Middle Tennessee residents are invited to take a walk on the supernatural side with the latest installment of the Southern Ghost Stories series and September ghost tours in Hendersonville.

The book delves into Hendersonville's eerie tales, mysterious creatures and haunted locales, a press release said.

Specific topics include the ghostly inhabitants of historic homes like Spring Haven and Monthaven, long-forgotten cemeteries, haunted schools and encounters with the supernatural.

"Southern Ghost Stories: Hendersonville, Tennessee" can be purchased locally at Walton Ferry Books and Barnes & Noble in Hendersonville and online at major retailers like Amazon.

Readers can take in historical accounts, eyewitness testimonies and paranormal investigations in the book or experience it firsthand during a Haunted Hendersonville Ghost Tour.

The family-friendly tour features ghostly encounters, local history and the folklore of Hendersonville at sites like the old Methodist Cemetery.

Tours are available at 6:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 9 and 16, beginning in front of Walton Ferry Books, 109 Walton Ferry Road. October dates will be announced later.
