Middle Tennessee weather: Another hard freeze is possible Sunday, forecast shows

Middle Tennessee is headed for yet another round of freezing temperatures and frost this weekend, along with the potential for a hard freeze on Sunday morning. Temperatures are expected to be 10-20 degrees below normal, according to the National Weather Service Nashville.

Lows are forecast in the mid-20s and low-30s Friday night before plunging even lower overnight Saturday into Sunday morning.

"Frost is likely each night," NWS Nashville said Friday. "A widespread hard freeze is expected Saturday night into Sunday morning, very similar to temperatures experienced Wednesday morning. Remember to protect vulnerable people, pets, pipes and plants through this weekend."

Nashville will open an extreme cold weather overflow shelter, in addition to its existing shelters, on Friday night. All are welcome, including pets. The shelter will open any night temperatures reach 32 or below.
