Police give all-clear at Middletown schools after responding to 'suspicious package' report

Middletown police have cleared Middletown High School after responding to a report of a "suspicious package," school district officials said.

Middletown High School and Middletown Middle School were placed on lockdown Wednesday morning, officials said.

High school students were dismissed early and a soft lockdown for the middle school has been lifted, officials said. The high school has since reopened.

The lockdowns came less than a week after a string of hoax 911 calls prompted lockdowns at schools across the state, including Princeton High School in Sharonville.
