A Midlands restaurant known for its wings and fries will close its doors. Here is when

A chicken wing joint not far from downtown Lexington is closing its doors.

Wing Man, located alongside an Exxon gas station at 711 Main St. in Lexington, announced plans to close up shop in a recent post on Facebook.

“We want to thank our customers for the support you have shown since we opened our doors last November,” Wing Man’s social media post said. “After a lot of thought and consideration, this Saturday (Aug.) 5th will be our last day open.

“Thank you again, we couldn’t have done it without you! Who knows what the future holds for Wing Man, but at this location we were limited to wings per our lease. Thank you for your understanding and support!!”

Wing Man has utilized a simple menu featuring a variety chicken wings and hand-cut French fries. The wings come in several varieties, including plain, hot, ranch, butter garlic and the restaurant’s signature “original” sauce flavor.

The wing restaurant has been located in the Main Street spot that was previously occupied by Roy’s Grille for a number of years. Roy’s has since moved to Woodrow Street in Irmo.
