Midvalley restaurant on market for nearly $1 million

Mar. 27—The owners of a Midvalley restaurant for 25 years seek a buyer to continue the legacy they've built.

Tom Farrell, who operates Tiffany's Tap & Grill on Main Street in the Eynon section of Archbald with his wife, Cheryl, hopes to see the business prosper for years to come.

"I'm 63 and I'm looking to retire, but I'm going to make myself available to a new buyer if one presents themself for one to three years for training and the transition in hopes they would continue to operate the restaurant," Farrell said. "It's my baby. ... I don't want to see it fail or cease to exist."

The business and property — including the liquor license, fixtures, furnishings, kitchen, recipes and trade secrets, two one-bedroom apartments, a parking lot with 50 spaces and a lighted sign — went on the market Thursday for $997,000, said Jody Ferdyn of Classic Properties.

Farrell appreciates the patronage from customers throughout the years and stressed nothing will change while the restaurant is for sale.

"We want to thank them for their support and most importantly say we're not going anywhere," he said. "Our hours of operation and commitment to quality will remain the same. It's business as usual. I'll continue to work in the kitchen every day."

Mayor Shirley Barrett credits Tiffany's for attracting guests to Archbald.

"It's meant a lot because it's fine dining and people really enjoy going there," she said. "Up the valley, there aren't too many businesses like that, so it brings a lot to the borough."

Archbald Councilman Brian Gilgallon noted Tiffany's developed a quality reputation during its more than two decades on Main Street.

"Tom and Cheryl built up a great business and they're absolutely going to be missed," he said. "Hopefully whoever buys it will keep it as what it is right now, although they're going to have very big shoes to fill."

Gilgallon added the restaurant provides a welcoming atmosphere and top-notch food.

"The service was always good, and the food is always excellent, he said. "It's a nice relaxing place to go. They treat you like gold."
