Migrants in Belarus queue in the snow for food

Migrants were seen receiving warm food inside a tent as children played in the snow.

The European Union accuses Belarus of flying in thousands of people from the Middle East and pushing them to cross into EU and NATO members Poland, Lithuania and Latvia, in response to European sanctions.

Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko, who denies European Union allegations he fomented the migrant crisis, said he did not want a cross-border clash as that could lead to war, while reiterating that the EU should accept some migrants while Belarus repatriates others.
