Trade season is here and the biggest domino has fallen. The Brooklyn Nets, after trading away Kyrie Irving to the Dallas Mavericks back on Feb. 5, will now move Kevin Durant to the Phoenix Suns for a package centered around Mikal Bridges.

The Nets, who are now left wondering what happened after seemingly being in the driver’s seat to win a championship when they had Durant, Irving, and James Harden in the 2020-21 season, are now entering a transitional phase with Bridges leading the way.

The full package for Durant is Bridges, Cam Johnson, four first-round picks, and a 2028 pick swap as well as Jae Crowder. The Nets will be focusing now on development and rebuilding as they move forward with a new era.

Bridges was in shock of the deal and he took to Twitter to give his reaction to leaving the Suns and now joining the Nets.

Bridges is averaging 17.2 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 3.6 assists while shooting 38.7% from deep in the 2022-23 season. He will look to replicate those numbers in Brooklyn playing next to Spencer Dinwiddie, Cam Thomas, and Nic Claxton.
