Mike Bibby made one of the biggest shots in Kings history when he hit a game-winning jumper in Game 5 of the 2002 Western Conference finals to give Sacramento a 3-2 series lead over the Los Angeles Lakers. Now, Bibby is back to break down the action as the newest member of the television broadcast team on NBC Sports California.

The Kings announced Tuesday that Bibby is joining the broadcast team as a pregame and postgame analyst. He will make his debut when the Kings play the Golden State Warriors on Wednesday at Chase Center in San Francisco.

The Kings said Bibby will provide commentary along with Kyle Draper, Morgan Ragan and Matt Barnes. Mark Jones and Draper return to provide television play-by-play while Kayte Christensen reprises her role as a TV game analyst.

In addition, the Kings announced Gary Gerould is back for his 39th season as the radio voice of the Kings on Sactown Sports 1140. Gerould, who is affectionately known as the “G-Man,” called his 3,000th game last season. Gerould has been calling Kings games since the Kings relocated to Sacramento in 1985.

Bibby spent seven of his 14 NBA seasons in Sacramento, where he partnered with Chris Webber, Vlade Divac, Peja Stojakovic, Doug Christie, Bobby Jackson and others to lead the Kings to the brink of a championship. Bibby ranks fourth in franchise history in 3-point goals (775), fifth in assists (2,580), sixth in steals (584) and 13th in points (8,384), field goals (3,008) and games (476).

Bibby came out of Arizona as the No. 2 pick in the 1998 NBA draft after winning an NCAA championship in 1997 and the Pac-10 Conference Player of the Year award in 1998. The Kings acquired Bibby in a June 2001 trade that sent Jason Williams to the Memphis Grizzlies. He averaged 17.6 points, 3.2 rebounds, 5.4 assists and 1.2 steals over seven seasons with the Kings before going on to play for the Atlanta Hawks, Washington Wizards, Miami Heat and New York Knicks.
