Mike Johnson Revealed if He’d Ever Consider Being ‘The Bachelor’ After He Was Snubbed This Season

It’s been months since ABC passed over Mike Johnson when casting the current season of The Bachelor, and try as the Mike fans might, they’re still not over it! But do not cry for Mike, you guys. He has taken his time on The Bachelorette and Bachelor in Paradise and is using his newfound fame to write a self-love book, help other Bachelor Nation peeps navigate their way through the spotlight, and secure the sponcon, of course.

While celebrating his new partnership with Smirnoff Seltzer Rosé at a recent Bachelor watch party in Brooklyn, Mike talked to Cosmopolitan about whether or not he’d ever star on his own Bachelor season if ABC changed its mind and begged him to do the honors.

Without jumping at the thought or shutting down the idea entirely, Mike said, “I’m doing a lot of wonderful things in my life right now. You know, I got a wonderful partnership with Smirnoff. I got a book that’s coming out. And so, if I’m not in love at that point in time, then that’s a possibility.” Interesting.

But if Mike were to go on this hypothetical season that I am now speaking into existence, he said there’s one thing he absolutely would not allow. He confessed, “If I were the Bachelor, there probably wouldn’t be any country music. I mean, I like Chris Stapleton but country, like, isn’t my top ten on my playlist for Spotify.” Okay, okay, we can work with that!

Mike also said that if he were the lead, he’d be way more relatable than what we’ve seen on the show in the past. He added, “People would be like, ‘Yo, girl. You see what he just did there?’ Like, that’s something that I would do in that position. So, I feel like I’m very relatable, and I’m just talking like it’s just you and me. I literally forget that there’s cameras around.”

So now the only question is: ABC, what are you waiting for?!
