Mike Pence calls Trump ‘my father’ in campaign ad on Facebook
A Trump campaign ad where Mike Pence refers to Donald Trump as “my father” was posted to the VP’s social media accounts on Friday.
The ads popped up on Mr Pence’s official Facebook and Instagram profiles.
The ad pleaded for “EVERY Patriot” to step up to “CRUSH Sleepy Joe’s dreams of turning America into a BIG GOVERNMENT SOCIALIST Nation”.
It went on: “I convinced my father to give you another chance, which is why he’s decided to EXTEND your PERSONAL 500%-MATCH OFFER FOR 1 MORE HOUR...
Social media users put the description of Mr Trump as “father” to Mr Pence down to a botched copy-and-paste job of wording used in ads sent out by the president’s sons, Eric and Donald Jr.

But it elicited some wry responses on Twitter.
“Eh. Pence called Trump “father” is just as believable as this being copy and pasted,” wrote one.

The ad, paid for by Donald J Trump for President Inc, was posted on 3 July and is now “inactive”.
Facebook data showed that the ad cost less than $100 and had 3,000-4000 impressions (how often the ad is shown) mainly to voters in Florida and Texas.
The ad was largely shown to men and women over the age of 45.
