Former Cincinnati Bearcats standout guard Mike Saunders Jr., who transferred from UC to Utah last year, retweeted a headline from @VerbalCommits announcing that he's entered the transfer portal.

Saunders averaged 4.1 points per game in 18 games in his only season for the Utes. He committed to Utah last April.

When Saunders entered the transfer portal last March, it was the second time he had done so while at UC. Head coach Wes Miller had brought Saunders back to the Bearcats from the portal after he was hired to replace John Brannen as UC's head coach.

Saunders averaged 3.5 points per game in 22 games, including 10 starts, as a freshman at UC. He averaged 7.3 points, 2.0 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game in 33 games as a sophomore for the Bearcats, and scored a career-best 20 in a win against then-No. 14 Illinois in the Hall of Fame Classic in Nov. 2021.

Zach Harvey, who played earlier this season at UC Santa Barbara after transferring from UC, entered the transfer portal again in December.
