Milan bakes in summer heatwave

STORY: A brutal heatwave with spikes well above 104 Fahrenheit (40C) settled over southern Europe last week, part of a global pattern of rising temperatures, widely attributed by scientists and climatologists to human activity.

In Milan, weather website ilmeteo.it said temperatures peaked at 98.6 Fahrenheit (37C) while pharmacy readings peaked at 100.4 Fahrenheit (38C).
