Milan doctor arrested, charged with attempted arson of clinic

In her connection with an attempted arson on Tuesday at the Family Care Clinic in Milan, Dr. Misty Allen was arrested by Gibson County Sheriff's deputies at her Jackson home on Thursday night, according to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation.

An arrest warrant was issued by TBI special agents for Allen following the determination of an intentionally started fire inside a room at the Milan clinic. Reports of an "unusual odor" prompted a response from the Milan Police Department.

In what the report described as "suspicious circumstances," further assistance was warranted by Accelerant Detection K9 Millie and TBI special agent fire investigators.

Allen, who worked at the Milan clinic at the time of the fire, has been charged with one count of Attempted Aggravated Arson. She is currently in custody at the Gibson County Jail with no set amount of bond.

According to a health information website, Allen's doctoral experience of nearly two decades led her to work at numerous hospitals across the region including Jackson-Madison County General Hospital and West Tennessee Healthcare Milan Hospital. A University of Tennessee graduate, she specializes in family practice in affiliation with West Tennessee Medical Group Inc., Family Care Walk In Clinic Inc., and Patterson Physical Therapy LLC.
