One man is fighting for his life after three people were stabbed on board a London bus.

A 34-year-old man took a knife out on the route N25 service as it passed by the Mile End Underground station just after midnight on Wednesday.

Police were called and a 34-year-old victim was found by officers with stab wounds as they arrived at the scene at 12.48am.

He was immediately treated by police before the London Ambulance Service took him to a hospital in the east of the capital where he remains in a critical condition.

Two other men - aged 34 and 22 - were also taken to hospital for treatment for knife injuries, but their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Officers arrested a 34-year-old man at the scene.

He is in an east London police station where he is being questioned on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm.
