Miley Cyrus’s Latest Look Is an Ode to This Hardcore Punk Band

Miley Cyrus is the queen of rock and roll style. These days she often sticks to jeans and a graphic tee, giving the basic pieces an elevated spin with the help of killer accessories. (She loves mounds of Chanel necklaces, for one.) This weekend was no different. The singer was spotted out in Los Angeles, California yesterday wearing her signature pairing—only this time her band tee of choice paid homage to legendary hardcore punk band Black Flag.

Founded in the 1970s in California, the group symbolizes what the punk genre embodies as a whole: opposition. And though Cyrus’s music is hardly what you would call anarchic, she clearly has an affinity with that rebel spirit.

The singer tucked her band tee into perfectly fitted high-waisted jeans in a light wash, and threw on pointy mid-calf leather boots replete with hefty silver hardware. The stiletto heels made the whole ensemble feel less concert-goer, more fashion—as did her Goyard tote and safety pin-studded statement belt. Given she’s a rock star in her own right, she flaunted a plentiful array of jewelry, too, including chunky rings and bracelets.
