Miley Cyrus Predicted the Mullet Trend Would Be Back in This Iconic Video From 2008

As it turns out, Miley Cyrus was a fan of the mullet long before she debuted the iconic hairstyle this past January. We know because, over a decade ago, the former Disney darling was asked if the mullet would ever make a comeback in an interview, and she was all for it. Cyrus herself shared the video this weekend to prove it.

The 27-year-old singer-songwriter posted the priceless clip on Instagram along with the caption: "The mullet is officially back when '08 Miley says so..... perioTTTTT." The interview features Cyrus responding to the reporter's mullet question by saying, "You know what, it's kind of, like, getting in again! Like if it's edgy and spiky, it's actually kind of cool. I think it's actually starting to come back."

Needless to say, it's pretty wild to see Cyrus talking candidly about mullets back in her Hannah Montana days when she still had super-long Rapunzel hair and no idea that she'd someday be sporting the polarizing hairstyle herself. Fans are leaving comments on the post like, "The tea!!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥," "omg she called it," and "This is too funny😂😂😂."

For anyone who doesn't remember, Cyrus first revealed a mullet-like hairstyle in November of last year — then, in early January 2020, she went for the full shebang. While there's no denying it's not for everyone, the style definitely suits the "Wrecking Ball" singer and her quirky personality.

Now, kindly excuse us while we watch this video ten more times. It just doesn't get old, folks.
