If you were hoping to see Miley Cyrus again on stage, chances are it may not happen for a long time, if at all. In her latest British Vogue cover story, the 30-year-old "Flowers" singer revealed that there's a chance she won't tour large venues again.

"Like singing for hundreds of thousands of people isn't really the thing that I love. There's no connection. There's no safety," Miley told the publication. "It's also not natural. It's so isolating because if you're in front of 100,000 people then you are alone."

Miley has been in the spotlight for nearly her entire life as her dad, Billy Ray Cyrus, was a successful country music star in the '90s and she starred on the Disney Channel original series, Hannah Montana. Since then, she's released multiple albums including her latest, Endless Summer Vacation. Notably, Miley hasn't toured in nearly 10 years since she wrapped her Bangerz tour in 2014. Since 2019, she's played at several international music festivals including Glastonbury and Lollapalooza.

The hitmaker also revealed that the touring lifestyle ultimately affected her health. "I was in a lot of pain," she said of the inflammation she suffered after hitting the stage. "I was kind of back into the pop star thing and I noticed I had this flare-up." Once she finished her Bangerz tour in 2014, Miley said she asked herself, "Do I want to live my life for anyone else's pleasure or fulfillment other than my own?"

We've been granted showstopping performances from Miss Miley over the years, from humble beginnings to massive festival crowds. She told British Vogue that she prefers to entertain fans and loved ones in more intimate settings because the "connection" is stronger and she can gauge how her performance is being received by her audience.

After the cover story was released, Miley penned a letter to fans on Instagram to clarify that she feels "connected to my fans NOW more than ever."

"Performing for YOU has been some of the best days of my life & we will continue this journey together as we have for the last almost two decades," she continued. "This has nothing to do with a lack of appreciation for the fans & everything to do with I simply don't want to get ready in a locker room. Which is the reality of life on the road."

She also explained that the stunning archive fashion pieces she's recently pulled from designers like Bob Mackie "don't travel well" and that she doesn't want to sleep on a bus while touring.

"It isn't what's best for me right NOW, & if you've been following my career you know that I always change and the way I feel about that could too. Love you forever, I'm just on my Endless Summer Vacation," the "Jaded" singer closed out her note.
