Milford police seek help in identifying woman who used counterfeit money

MILFORD — Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a woman they say used counterfeit $100 bills on Tuesday at three different businesses.

Deputy Police Chief John Sanchioni said the bills looked like “the real deal.”

At each of the three businesses, which police did not identify, the woman used a fake $100 bill to purchase a low-priced item, such as a bottle of soda.

“That’s what they do,” said Sanchioni. “They buy something cheap and get all the change back so they have all the cash.”

Anyone with information related to the incident or who can identify the woman is asked to call the department’s detective division at 508-473-1113 or the tip line at 508-473-3800.
