Milford police seek woman who assaulted employee, vandalized Burger King

MILFORD — Police are searching for a woman they say assaulted a fast food restaurant employee last week, broke the drive-thru window and damaged the employee’s vehicle.

According to a police report, at about 10 p.m. last Friday, a woman ordered food at a drive-thru at the Burger King on Beaver Street. When she arrived at the window for pickup and examined the food, she screamed at an employee that the order was wrong.

The employee told police that the same woman had acted similarly two weeks before, so she took a photo of the woman and refunded her order.

“(The employee) went to give the woman her money back and she got out of the car, scratched (the employee’s) arm and took her money, and began pulling on the drive-thru window as it shattered," police said in their report. "The female then began to attempt to climb through the window and began pushing items in the restaurant over and throwing things she could reach, i.e. sweet and sour sauce.”

Police said the woman then got back into her SUV, drove around the restaurant and parked near the employees’ vehicles. A man then got out of the SUV, walked near the employees’ vehicles and then got back into the SUV, which drove off.

The employee who had been confronted then went out to check her vehicle and found it was damaged, according to the report.

Neither the employee nor the manager said they knew the woman, other than that she had come to the restaurant previously.

Police are now hoping someone can identify the woman from the employee’s cellphone photo. Police said they will charge her with assault and battery; malicious destruction of property worth more than $1,200; disorderly conduct; and disturbing the peace.
