Annapolis Green put out its report on how the Military Bowl did with its zero waste efforts.

The game, played at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium on Dec. 27, 2023, had accompanying tailgate festival and hospitality areas. When you take all of that into account, the event managed to keep 2.1 tons of food waste out of the landfill which in order for it to be converted to compost.

Aluminum cans, cardboard, and plastic bottles weighed in at 860 pounds of recycling.

People with the event rounded up three 55-gallon totes of plastic film to be compressed for proper recycling.

The Zero Waste Green Team, itself, was made up of 15 volunteers sorting, hauling, and managing to slip some smiles in there as they did.

Annapolis Green gave Military Bowl a nod for staging another “bay responsible event.”
