Mill Village Ministries breaks ground on $4.5 million West Greenville redevelopment project

Mill Village Ministries broke ground on its $4.5 million redevelopment project on Tuesday, Oct. 3.

Located on 1186 Pendleton Street, the project is slated to begin construction on its current building next month and open in the fall of 2024. The nonprofit also purchased a vacant house at 1180 Pendleton Street, formerly a catering kitchen, as part of the redevelopment project.

Mill Village Ministries raised money to fund the new project through a capital campaign over the last two years.

"This will be a new home that allow us to dig deeper roots right here in West Greenville," Mill Village Ministries Executive Director Dan Weidenbenner said on Tuesday during the groundbreaking.

The organization, a coalition of social enterprises, plans for the redevelopment to house all four of the different aspects of the nonprofit. It will include a full-service bike shop, a warehouse for Mill Village Farms' FoodShare program, training spaces for Village Launch's entrepreneurs and spaces to continue youth development.
