Miller, 'Trojan Heroes' honored

Congratulations were in order Monday at a meeting of Sturgis Public Schools Board of Education.

Mike Miller, Eastwood Elementary principal, was congratulated on earning “Principal of the Year” for Michigan Elementary & Middle School Principals Association's (MEMSPA) Region 4. The award honors principals who have exhibited extraordinary leadership, commitment to their students and faculty, service to their communities and contributions to the overall profession, including their professional associations.

December “Trojan Heroes” also were honored Monday. They are Aaron Claybaugh (SMS teacher), Christa Ellingson (GSRP teacher), and Kim Flowers (Congress secretary). Visit https://sturgisps.org/staff/trojan_heroes to view the district’s Trojan Heroes website.
