Millersport news: Santa coming to town this weekend at Miracle on Lancaster Street

Get ready for the holiday spirit to sweep through downtown Millersport! As the most wonderful time of the year approaches, join the 3rd annual Miracle on Lancaster Street from noon to 4 p.m. Nov. 11. Santa Claus will be in town, offering enchanting carriage rides, and some local businesses will have fantastic deals and specials all day long. Plus, there are still a few surprising additions to this year’s festive fun. Stay tuned! Don’t miss this opportunity to immerse yourself in the magic of Christmas before everyone else!

Schmidt's food truck

On Nov. 9 from 4 to 8 p.m., Schmidt’s food truck will be at the Millersport Lions Clubhouse. You can order ahead on their website or order at the truck on that day. Come hungry and bring your friends, family, and neighbors. Schmidt’s will donate 5% of sales back to the club for charities.

Veterans Day Potluck Dinner

The Millersport Methodist Church will hold its annual Veterans’ Day Potluck Dinner at 5 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 12 in the church fellowship hall. All Veterans are welcome. The church family will take this time to show thanks to the Veterans of our community and hope that they will join in the celebration.

School activities

The annual Veterans Day Assembly will be held on Friday, Nov. 10. The program will be conducted by the students of Millersport High School. All Veterans are encouraged to attend.

Senior citizens

The Millersport Senior Citizens met Nov. 3 in the Millersport Lions Clubhouse. Nancy Davis offered a prayer. Twenty-three members enjoyed a potluck lunch.

Following lunch President Ed Otte conducted the business meeting. Discussion was held on the Christmas meeting luncheon plans. The Kitchen Committee for December will finalize the plans. Mary Dupler read some humorous “Words of Wisdom.” Door prizes were won by Marty Holtz, Pam Ricketts, Debbie Gant, Mary Dupler, Richard Neff, Carol King, Barb Voehringer, Judy Harris, Bill Yates and Vivian Crist. The meeting was adjourned for cards and Bingo. The next meeting will be a catered Thanksgiving luncheon at noon on Friday, Nov. 17 at the Lions Clubhouse.

Lions Club

Lions Kris Keller and Tamarra Parker-Stevens attended the October Walnut Township School Board meeting to receive a Certificate of Appreciation for the club. Among the many ways that the club supports the schools and students are the Leo Program, Lions Quest, White Christmas Partnership, scholarships, emergency clothing for students, and adaptive equipment for vision-impaired students.

Laker Leos descended on Mathias Miller Park on Oct. 8 to help decorate for the season. On Oct. 13 a group of Leos and parents spent the day cleaning tombstones in the Millersport Village Cemetery.
