Millie Bobby Brown is headed to college. The Stranger Things star enrolled at Purdue University to study human services remotely.

Not every actor opts to go to college when their career is just taking off. Brown joins the ranks of actresses such as Yara Shahidi, Emma Watson and Natalie Portman in choosing to continue her education during this pivotal time. The 18-year-old will have to juggle work, school and life like other college students — albeit a bit more glamorously.

Brown didn’t seem intimidated by the challenge in a recent Allure interview. In fact, she appeared to consider the added pressure of being a celeb as almost a call to action.
“Of course, people can look at it as pressure or scary, but I think that’s the most exciting part of my job,” Brown told Allure. “People are all looking at me, ‘What are you going to say, Millie?’”
Her message was clear: “I’m going to say, ‘Young girls deserve an education. Young people everywhere deserve equal rights. [You] deserve to love the people that you want to love. Be the people that you want to be and achieve the dreams that you want to achieve.’ That’s my message.”
Brown described the human services program as the chance to “learn about the system and how to help young people.” A Goodwill Ambassador for UNICEF, Brown began this work by advocating for menstrual health services and education for young women.
She told Allure, “Ultimately, all I wanted to do within my career is help young girls and young people out there know that I, too, go through things.”
