She shot to fame with a shaved head, but as she turns 18 actress Millie Bobby Brown looks worlds away from her Stranger Things character Eleven.

Millie took to Instagram to share her glamorous new look with her fans, sporting a glittering strapless gown with a flash of midriff and a thigh split.

She completed the look with a flawless complexion and her long brown locks flowing behind her.

And the star, who turned 18 on 19 February, has plenty to celebrate as she comes of age.

Born in Marbella, Spain, she spent her childhood in Bournemouth before her family moved to Florida when she was eight years old, and Millie enrolled in stage school.

She was soon scouted by a Hollywood agent and the whole family moved again - including siblings Paige, Ava and Charlie, so Millie could purse her dreams.

She made her acting debut in the ABC fantasy drama series Once Upon A Time in Wonderland, playing a young Alice.

But her big break came in 2016 when she landed the role of telekinetic child Eleven in the hit Netflix sci-fi drama Stranger Things.

Her spell-binding performances in the cult show has propelled her to worldwide super-stardom.

But woe-betide anyone who suggests Millie shot to "overnight fame". Millie once said: “It didn’t happen all of a sudden as it might seem.

"The series was really a stroke of luck, which arrived after two years of tireless work — commercials, auditions on auditions.”

And all the hard work and sacrifice has since paid off as she has been nominated for two Primetime Emmys, named in Time magazine’s top 100 most influential people in the world and become the youngest ever UN Goodwill Ambassador.

And that is just the beginning for Millie - she has modelled for top designers Moncler and Calvin Klein, now also boasts her own beauty line, has the obligatory celebrity boyfriend in the shape of Jake Bongiovi, son of legendary rocker Jon Bon Jovi, and is said to be worth a cool £7m.

To celebrate her big birthday, Millie, Jake and their friends partied at London's Cirque Le Soir nightclub.

But work is clearly Millie's number one priority with three movies currently in the pipeline - Damsel, The Girls I've Been, and the Thing About Jellyfish.

And while most girls her age are just finishing school Millie has already appeared in two Godzilla movies, King Of The Monsters and Godzilla vs Kong, as well as playing Sherlock Holmes’s younger sister in 2020 film Enola Holmes, in which she is also credited as a producer.

She has amassed a staggering 47m Instagram followers and her make-up line Florence by Mills has a whole host of celebrity fans.

But while she has worked hard to achieve success, it hasn't all been plain-sailing for Millie.

She has spoken about being the victim of bullies while at school in the UK, and when she turned 16 she spoke out about the anxiety inappropriate comments and sexualisation have caused her.

But Millie always retains a positive outlook and says her daily mantra is to repeat the words "I love you. I'm sorry. Thank you."

And in an interview with Glamour magazine to celebrate her 18th birthday, she says her Nan was her biggest inspiration.

Millie told the magazine: "Young girls, women and specifically women in my family make me feel most empowered. My Nan made me feel most empowered and I learned a lot from her.

"Something that my Nan preached was that failure is part of the process and it was something that I didn't really listen to for a really long time and then I understood it after I went through my own failures. I was always like, okay, okay, okay and then I got it. Not so much through my career, but mostly just being a girl and understanding that you can't be good at everything."
