Floods have wrought havoc in northeastern Bangladesh and parts of India amid heavy monsoon rains, with more than 50 deaths reported between the two countries.
Footage livestreamed on Facebook by MD Ashraful Islam Tanvir shows flooding in the badly hit Bangladesh city of Sylhet.
Up to 100,000 people have been evacuated from the flood-hit Sylhet and Sunamganj districts, State Minister for Disaster Management and Relief Enamur Rahman said, according to the Dhaka Tribune. However, the paper said, around four million people in those districts have been “marooned” by the flooding.
