Milton dog grooming service DD’s Dog Spa and Salon offering free grooming in December

Denise D’Angelo is a woman of many talents.

If you’re into live music, you may have seen her behind the piano at places such as Seville Quarter and Goat Lips Deli or for private events with the Brighton Street Band. When she’s not up on stage, she can be found teaching piano, voice, guitar and violin to students of all ages and experience levels.

“Music is my life,” D’Angelo said. “It’s all I’ve ever done. I’m a professional pianist, I teach and I perform. But I knew it was time for something different in my life. I wanted to try something different. It was time for a change, and I needed the change.”

Denise D'Angelo launched her new dog grooming business, DD’s Dog Spa and Salon, at 5474 Cherub Circle in Milton after years of grooming her three schnauzers.

Leaning into her love of animals, and having groomed her three schnauzers herself through the years, D’Angelo decided that opening up a dog spa and salon wouldn’t be too far of a leap. After recently finishing her training and certification, D’Angelo was ready to go.

This past Thursday, D’Angelo made it official and hosted an online grand opening celebration to get the word out about DD’s Dog Spa and Salon.

“We had such a great response so far,” D’Angelo said. “I offer grooming services for dogs of all shapes and sizes. Some places limit by size and may only do small dogs. Other salons may charge extra for services like nail trimming. We won’t. We’re a full service dog spa and salon, because we believe every dog should be pampered. Their teeth will be brushed. Their ears will be clean. We will do an overall wellness check, and look for lumps and bumps and let their owners know upon discovery.”

D’Angelo said the personalized attention she will give each dog won’t stop there.

“My salon is also by appointment only,” D’Angelo said. “Some places, I would have to drop off early in the morning and they may end up being there the entire day. Your dog will be seen as soon as you arrive. We don’t want them ending up spending the whole day here.”

But D’Angelo is far from being a one woman show. Her longtime friend, Madison Morgan, recently moved to Milton from Sedona, Arizona.

“I’m so proud of her," Morgan said of D'Angelo. "Denise and I went to school together, and I’m here for moral support. I offer concierge services for the dogs. I talk to them and keep them company while being groomed.”

As a way to further get the word out about DD’s Dog Spa and Salon, D’Angelo is offering free dog grooming services between now and Dec. 31.

“We want people to give us a try, and most importantly, we want people to keep coming back,” D’Angelo said.

DD’s Dog Spa and Salon is located at 5474 Cherub Circle in Milton. For more information and to make an appointment, visit  https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100087980250645 or call 850-375-6778.
