Milton man arrested for alleged 'illicit sexual conduct' in Republic of Fiji

Northern District of Florida U.S. Attorney Jason R. Coody announced Friday that a 42-year-old Milton man was arrested after a federal criminal complaint of alleged illicit sexual conduct in the Republic of Fiji.

Coody announced that Jason R. Moore was charged with one count of illicit sexual conduct in foreign places between March 2013 and Feb. 2016.

"Moore was arrested by Special Agents from the Department of Homeland Security and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement on Friday in Santa Rosa County," Coody's release stated.

While the release or federal court documents do not specify what illicit acts were allegedly conducted in Fiji, the release does insinuate the crime involves a child, stating the arrest was a part of Project Safe Childhood.

"This case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse," the release stated.

Moore was ordered to remain in custody of the United States Marshals Service, according to the release.
