Milton man indicted on federal cocaine, fentanyl trafficking charges

BOSTON – A Milton man has been indicted by a federal grand jury in Boston on drug trafficking charges, the U.S. attorney's office said.

Brandy Soto-Lara, 25, was charged with possession with intent to distribute cocaine and 40 grams or more of fentanyl. He was arrested Jan. 11 and has remained in custody since.

During a search of Soto-Lara’s apartment in November 2018, more than 400 grams of cocaine and over 40 grams of fentanyl was seized, according to a news release from U.S. Attorney Rachel Rollins' office. Also seized were $6,000, a loaded firearm with an obliterated serial number, firearm parts and ammunition, the statement said.

Soto-Lara faces from five to 40 years in prison, at least four years and up to a lifetime of supervised release and a fine of up to $5 million.
