Lindsay was Milton's first female mayor. During her time in office, she voiced her support for the splash pad at Carpenter's Park and the introduction of the first Native American historical marker in the city.

She was also one of numerous mayors across the state to pen a letter to Gov. Ron DeSantis earlier this year in opposition to the Local Business Protection Act that aimed to allow businesses to sue local governments if regulations are passed that cost the business at least 15% of profits.

Lindsay did face backlash from her competitors for her emergency mask declaration resolution in the summer of 2020, mandating all people to wear masks inside Milton businesses.

The resolution was not supported by the Milton City Council and received national attention by CNN when it did not go into effect.

Stillings claimed the resolution Lindsay created was an "overstep."

Johnson echoed the sentiment that the mayor is not elected to dictate or diminish rights of the people.
