Milton Police: Man hospitalized with gunshot wounds after he 'charged' at homeowner

Milton police are investigating a shooting that took place Sunday evening at a home in the 5500 block of Dogwood Drive.

At approximately 6:50 p.m. Sunday, officers responded to a suspicious person complaint, and when they arrived they found a man with gunshot wounds, according to Facebook post from the Milton Police Department,

A male homeowner was confronted in the backyard of a home, the Facebook post said.

"According to a witness statement, the suspicious person charged at the homeowner and was shot by the homeowner," according to the post.

The suspicious person was taken to an area hospital and was in critical condition.

Milton Chief of Police Tony Tindell said the department will determine whether the homeowner will face any charges once it completes its investigation.
