Milwaukee Health Department COVID-19 vaccination, testing services changing

Three years into the COVID-19 era, the Milwaukee Health Department is implementing a change in testing and vaccination services.

“The Milwaukee Health Department started offering COVID-19 community testing sites at the onset of the pandemic and stood up our first vaccination clinic in January 2021,” Milwaukee Interim Health Commissioner Tyler Weber said in a statement.

“Three years of COVID-19 response within the Milwaukee community has been no small feat. Our team has administered over 241,000 doses of COVID-19 vaccine and 497,000 COVID-19 tests. Milwaukee lives have been saved due to the tireless work of our staff and public health and healthcare workers across our city.”

Here's what you need to know:

COVID-19 vaccination locations and hours

  • March 17: Last day for COVID-19 vaccinations at the Menomonee Valley COVID-19 drive-through clinic, 2401 W. St. Paul Ave.

  • Milwaukee Health Department clinics will continue to offer vaccinations for free without an appointment, with hours of operation available at Milwaukee.gov/COVIDvax.

  • April 3: hours of vaccination clinics will change:

    • Southside Health Center, 1639 S. 23rd St.Monday, 3–6 p.m.Tuesday, 1–4 p.m.

    • Northwest Health Center, 7630 W. Mill Rd.Wednesday, 3–6 p.m.

    • Keenan Sexual Health Clinic, 3200 N. 36th St.Friday 10 a.m.–1 p.m.

COVID-19 testing

  • April 15: The last day the Menomonee Valley site will offer testing.

  • At-home rapid tests are still available. Those can be ordered through the Say Yes COVID Tests (sayyescovidhometest.org) program until the end of May, according to the Health Department.
