Milwaukee's warming shelters have opened for winter
Warming shelters are opened across Milwaukee, giving the unhoused and those in need a safe place to spend the cold winter nights.
The six warming shelters plan to be open every night from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., regardless of temperature, until March 31, 2024. This is a change from past years, when some shelters only opened on nights colder than a certain temperature.
Guest House Milwaukee and Repairers of the Breach are open year-round as well.
Those in need of warming shelter services are encouraged to call the 211 social services hotline for the most up-to-date information. Dial 211 to reach the free hotline.
