Mindy Kaling just shared a rare photo with her daughter, and we love their #twinning moment

Mindy Kaling is a veritable Hollywood powerhouse, but even the actor-writer-director-producer-showrunner (are we missing anything?) is as obsessed with tiny versions of adult clothing as us mere mortals are. The former The Office and The Mindy Project star rarely posts pictures of her daughter Katherine (whom she calls Kit—cute!), who was born in December 2017. But on August 20th, Kaling gave us a little teaser of her little one, posting a pic on her Instagram of the mom-and-daughter duo’s feet clad in matching, glittery sandals.

“Got these little @ohjoyco pons sandals for me and Kit. Glitter is our aesthetic,” she captioned.

Kit’s face isn’t visible in the photo, but we’re still swooning over this #twinning moment. Maybe the pair took a cue from #twinning pros Kylie Jenner and Stormi Webster?

Although Kaling is open about her life on social media, in interviews, and perhaps especially in her work (Netflix recently ordered 10 episodes of Kaling’s semi-autobiographical comedy), she’s remained mostly mum about motherhood.

Despite lots of speculation, Kaling has also decided not to reveal the identity of Kit’s father.

And if today’s post is any indication, Kaling’s fans are supportive of the Late Night writer’s decision to maintain her daughter’s privacy.

“I love how you don’t show your daughter,” one follower commented. “It’s smart and I think that I would do the same. [There] are too many Instagramers that share too much of their children. Eating, sleeping, taking their first steps, having meltdowns etc. When is too much?”

The sweet post got some love from Kaling’s celeb friends, too. Kaling’s Office co-star Ellie Kemper commented “Sweetest little hand I ever saw,” while fellow Office alum Angela Kinsey posted a red heart. Reese Witherspoon, with whom Kaling starred in A Wrinkle in Time, wrote: “Glitter is your signature color.”

This isn’t the first time Kaling’s matched with her mini-me—in March, the actress posted this picture of her and Kit in coordinating veggie-print pajamas from BedHead.
