Minerva Area Chamber of Commerce has announced details of two upcoming holiday events.

Registration is open for the Dec. 3 Christmas parade, and businesses and families can register to take part in the Drive-it Yourself Christmas Lights Tour. Tickets also are on sale for the chamber’s 12 Days of Christmas raffle.

Businesses, organizations and private individuals can join the Christmas parade with floats, decorated cars, trucks or golf carts, or as walkers, at 3 p.m. Dec. 3.

Residents or businesses in Minerva Local School District who would be interested in sharing their outdoor Christmas decorations with the community can provide their address to the chamber by Nov. 21. Participating homes will be listed on a map that will be published Dec. 2. Chamber officials urge those taking the tour to show their appreciation for their favorite decorations by rolling down their car windows and shouting, “Like your lights!”

Tickets for the 12 Days of Christmas raffle will be available through Dec. 4 at the chamber office and other businesses around town.

Winners will be drawn Dec. 5-16, starting with the selection of 12 tickets the first day, 11 on the second, and so on, until the grand prize winner is picked Dec. 16. In all, there will be 78 winners and 195 prizes.

Tickets are $5 apiece, $10 for three, or $20 for seven, and are available at Minerva Area YMCA, Consumers National Bank-Minerva Branch, Minerva Bowl, Kishman’s IGA in Minerva and Malvern, Sandy Springs Brewing Co., Minerva Perk, Huebner Chevrolet/Subaru, Minerva Area Federal Credit Union, Clark, Clark & Chaddock, and the Minerva Chamber office.

All proceeds support the chamber’s community events and projects.
