Mingle for Jingle: Businesspeople and professionals meet at United Way campaign kickoff reception

The newly painted-and-polished Colony hotel, open for business after a summer of renovation, hosted a cocktail mixer for the Town of Palm Beach United Way.

The event, a meet-and-mingle for the members of the Business and Professional Committee, took place Oct. 4 and also served as a kickoff to the 2022-23 Business and Professional campaign.

Jay Clifford, vice president at First Horizon, and Stacie Hallinan, director of catering sales at The Colony Palm Beach, are co-chairpersons.

The campaign goal is set at $395,000.

“We are looking forward to a successful year for the Town of Palm Beach United Way’s Business and Professional Campaign,” Clifford said. “The contributions and partnerships we receive from the island business community allow the United Way to serve thousands of residents in need throughout Palm Beach County.”

The 28-member B&P committee works to secure corporate gifts and employee donations from businesses and professionals in Palm Beach, South Palm Beach and Manalapan.

Employees can give to the campaign through a one-time gift or through payroll deduction programs. Businesses can donate one-time corporate gifts and sponsorships.

“Whether it is a few dollars from the paycheck of a hardworking employee or a major gift from a corporation, every donation makes a difference,” Hallinan said. “It takes all of us working together to make our community a better place for all who live and work in Palm Beach County.”

Last year's B&P campaign, led by Elizabeth Marshman, raised $361,811 from approximately 1,400 employees and 72 businesses.
