Mini Vaccination Site Opening At La Salette Shrine In Attleboro

ATTLEBORO, MA — A mini vaccination site will be opening at La Salette Shrine in Attleboro on Friday, Jan. 29, reported The Sun Chronicle.

The site will vaccinate approximately 80 individuals who qualify for Phase 1 vaccination on Friday and is expected to schedule weekly clinics. Patients of are required to preregister through the health department and must live or work in Attleboro.

Those eligible for Phase 1 vaccination include health care workers, first responders, and those living or working in congregate care facilities, and Gov. Charlie Baker has announced that individuals age 75 and older, individuals age 65 and older, and individuals with two co-morbidities will be included in Phase 2.

The state of Massachusetts is only delivering about 100 doses of the Moderna vaccine a week to each health department, Attleboro Health Agent Jessica Horsman told the The Sun Chronicle. In response, the City of Attleboro has ordered a special freezer for the Pfizer vaccine, which has more availability but must be kept at a much lower temperature than the Moderna vaccine.
