Minister: Japan Sees China-Taiwan Friction as Security Threat

Jun.24 -- Japan's Defense Minister says tensions between China and Taiwan are a direct threat to his country's security. In an exclusive interview, Nobuo Kishi expressed concern about China's military buildup opposite Taiwan, saying the balance of strength is tipping in favor of Beijing and widening every year. Kishi's comments come a week after China sent 28 warplanes near Taiwan, in the latest escalation of military pressure on Taipei.
