Minivan stalls on tracks in Bridgewater, driver escapes before train strikes

BRIDGEWATER — An MBTA Commuter Rail train crashed into a minivan that had stalled on the tracks on Broad Street in Bridgewater, according to Bridgewater Police's Twitter page.

No one was injured in the crash, which took place on Thursday afternoon, Bridgewater police said.

"The driver of the minivan was attempting to cross the tracks when they got stalled, but then exited the vehicle before the train hit the van," An MBTA representative said

Bridgewater police said neither the driver nor the train passengers or conductor were injured.

The minivan was towed from the site, and the crossing was closed following the incident, according to Bridgewater police, but the area has since been cleared.
