May 4—COTTONWOOD — A Minneota teenager was injured Monday night after a vehicle in which they were a passenger left a roadway in Yellow Medicine County, according to the Minnesota State Patrol. Alcohol is believed to be a factor.
According to the crash report, Rhonda Kay Callens, 50, of Minneota, was driving a 2013 Dodge Durango westbound on 170th Avenue when her vehicle left the roadway in Normania Township in the area of U.S. Highway 59 and 168th Avenue west of Cottonwood.
A 16-year-old female passenger in the vehicle suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to Avera Marshall Regional Medical Center.
Callens and another 14-year-old female passenger in the vehicle have no injuries listed on the crash report.
Alcohol is listed as an involved factor under Callens' entry on the crash report.
Road conditions were dry and all parties were wearing their seat belts, according to the State Patrol.
The Yellow Medicine County Sheriff's Office and Cottonwood Ambulance also responded to the incident reported at 8:09 p.m. Monday.
