Minnesota Aurora goalkeeper Sarah Fuller retires from soccer

Minnesota Aurora goalkeeper Sarah Fuller said Tuesday she has retired from playing soccer.

Fuller, 23, helped lead Aurora to the USL W League championship game in its inaugural season in 2022, allowing eight goals in 13 games.

“Special thank you to Aurora FC for the opportunity to stand in net one last time in the best environment I could have imagined,” Fuller said in a statement. “It has been an honor to be a part of such a monumental team.”

Fuller, of Wylie, Texas, made national news in 2020 when she joined the Vanderbilt football team as a placekicker and became the first woman to score points for a Power Five conference school.

Fuller was a member of the Vanderbilt women’s soccer team before transferring to North Texas, where she had one year of eligibility remaining.
