Minnesota needs to end tax on Social Security: Letter

To the editor:

Minnesota has a surplus and can’t decide what to do with the money. As I listen to the news I am curious as to how many people know that Minnesota is one of only 13 states that taxes Social Security. I am guessing that doesn’t happen until you start collecting it. By that time you realize that no one cares about those “old people.”

We work and save to retire counting on that Social Security to which we have contributed since we started our careers only to have it taxed.

Please contact our legislators and help change this practice. Don’t wait until YOU are old and no one cares.
